Student Ambassadors to Prepare for Launch of 2007 Broward
County Fair

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Students invited from every public and private elementary and middle school in Broward County are set to gather for an annual Student Ambassadors' Luncheon to kick off their orientation for the upcoming 2007 Broward County Fair. They will meet at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 19, at Carrabba's Italian Restaurant, 1003 S. University Drive in Plantation (1/2 mile North of 595) . The luncheon , sponsored by Carrabba’s and Vista Healthplan, will acknowledge the Elementary and Middle school students in Broward County who will represent the Fair at their schools. The Fair, in its 32 nd year, runs from November 15 -25, 2007, at Fort Lauderdale Stadium, next to Lockhart Stadium.

“The Broward County Fair has always been a big supporter of education,” says Ina Nadler, Executive Director of the Fair. “That's why it is so great to see so much youth involvement within this event.”

Student ambassadors will spread the word at their schools about how students can enter a variety of Fair contests such as those for talent, science fair projects, horticulture and landscaping, home economics food and crafts, cheerleading, creative writing, photography, art and poster projects, and raising prize farm animals.

The Broward County Fair, a non-profit organization, is dedicated to enriching the lives of local children. Since the Fair began more than three decades ago, it has contributed more than $2 million to education and is the premier showcase for Broward’s vast agri-business community.

Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to attend the Fair, which Amusement Business magazine has ranked 50 th out of more than 3,000 fairs in North America. With over 100 rides, games and attractions in store, the Broward County Fair offers visitors a wide range of activities and exhibits, all to this year’s movie-entertainment theme, “It’s Showtime!” Family-style entertainment, special events and long-time favorites such as pet pageants, community talent shows and pie eating contests are just some of what the Fair has to offer.
